I did not come out until after college and medical school. I was afraid it would hurt my career and I feared my families reaction as they were very religious.  When I finally made the decision to tell my family they were very accepting and actually my father had know since I was 16. I now am in a 18 year relationship with my two partners and we are very open, proud, and accepted.
