We didn’t imagine the two of us would ever be together. We were sodifferent!  But once it happened, it felt almost unnatural not to goforward. Now we find humor together in our different ethnicities,nationalities, ages, life stages, shapes and sizes.

There will always be voices saying “keep your head down.”But if we do that, we won’t be able to take our own places in the world. In an integrated society that recognizes our similarities as well as our differences, we can’t ignore anyone.

Telling our stories is the most important and powerful thing we can do. We each have a story. It is the one unique thing we have to share.
And thanks to Out in Japan, we’re doing it together!

いろいろ違う2人ですから、付き合うことになるとは思ってませんでした。ところが一度付き合い始めたら、そうしないことは不自然に感じられました。人種・国籍・年齢・人生における立ち位置・身長・体型——2人の違いを今は笑い飛ばしています。

前に出るな、という声には耳を貸さないでおきましょう。でないと、いつまでもいい世界が創れないです。人々の共通点・違いどちらも考えてお互いを歓迎する社会を作るなら、無視していい存在はいません。

自分の話をすることが私たち皆のできる一番力強くて大事なことです。ひとり一人自分だけのストーリーがありますから、皆と共有してください。そしてOut in Japanのおかげさまでこれは簡単にできますから、皆と一緒に声を上げましょう。
